Watch this video if you would like to know if you can witness a contract.

So you want to witness a contract or a deed, and you’re not sure if you can. Well, here are the four key rules that you need to be aware of when witnessing a contractor or a deed.

Hi, I’m Simon from The Contract Company. Contracts it’s what we do all day, every day and sometimes overnight, lucky us.

Here are the four key principles you need to be aware of if you want to be a witness, to witness someone’s signing a document.

How to Witness a Contract: 4 Key Requirements

  1. One, you must be over the age of 18.
  2. Two, you must be of sound mind.
  3. Three, you can’t be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  4. And for you must have known the person signing the document for at least a year, or at least have seen their photo ID, like a driver’s licence or passport.

So running through that quickly again, over the age of 18, of sound mind, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and know the sign signer of the document for at least a year. Or at least have seen some sort of photo ID from them.

I hope that helps. Please feel free to share this to anyone who could be interested. And if you have any questions or queries, please feel free to get in touch, Simon@contractcompany.com.au or 1-800-355-455. Thanks very much.
